PAYAAM (‘Message for Happiness’) stands for the spreading the message of care, development, and compassion in the common people of Pakistan. Payaam Trust has been developed on the ideology of the National poet Allama Iqbal and hence aims to empower every Pakistani in self-actualization. We believe that every living being has the right to realize their potential; rise in their ranks and making their mark. The Trust has been founded and conceived by Basit Subhani, a well-known media personality and social activist. Conceived in 2005, PAYAAM was the answer found to alleviate misery after the devastating earthquake which hit North Pakistan in October of 2005. During those times Subhani mobilized and assembled voluntary teams to tend to the fatalities in Balakot and Muzaffarabad. Since then, his charitable efforts have kept growing and still continue to grow. PAYAAM Trust is a youth based organization which has reinvented the concept of community volunteerism. Since its inception it has been able to invite people from all walks of life to come together and contribute their services, resources, and support. Three years have seen a mix of various sections of society for achievement of a common goal. The goal is providing relief, spread happiness, and empower the underprivileged, the lonely, the disabled and those in need. Boasting of a large team of volunteers, Payaam Trust envisions a Pakistan where help and support is readily available.
